WHAT WE DO

'Tamaso maa

Jyotirgamaya'

(From darkness to the light of knowledge)

We seek a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and people live in dignity and security.

For 60 years now, our primary aims have been - 'Educate', 'Nurture' and 'Uplift'.

India is a study in contrast. While there are enormous swathes of Rural and Urban India that are matching pace with the world and contributing to its development, there are development efficient areas that, in many ways, are yet to find their feet and walk into the mainstream as equals.

The government has made huge efforts, but that's just not enough. It is imperative that individuals, NGOs and Corporates, back up the government's effort and work tirelessly and passionately towards homogeneous and sustainable development that will contribute to positive Nation Building.

MGP Sarvodaya Trust was set up for that very purpose. Currently, our base is Amirgadh, a tribal belt on the border of Gujarat and Rajasthan. Through the years we have worked with the local population in the following fields -

  • General Rural Development through providing primary and secondary education to boys and girls  through our Trust managed residential school.

  • Vocational training to improve livelihood opportunities for the Rural Youth.

  • Special focus on Women's Education, Empowerment and eventual Emancipation.

  • Providing Health care services within and outside our premises.

  • Natural Resource Management - Watershed Development.

  • Low Cost Housing and Sanitation Development.

  • Relief services during Draughts, Earthquakes and Epidemics.

  • Adult Education.

  • Agricultural research, education and adaptation of best practices.
